Custom Interior Metal Railing Wraps a Staircase Opening Clean

A lot of homes have open stair landings with nothing there - no railing, no barrier, just an open drop. It's one of those things people put off dealing with, but it's a real safety concern. That's exactly the kind of situation we stepped in to fix here.

We fabricated and installed a custom black metal railing that wraps the full perimeter of the staircase opening. The flat top rail runs clean and level, and the vertical balusters below it are evenly spaced with a slight twist detail that gives the whole thing a finished, intentional look. Nothing off-the-shelf about it.

Getting interior metalwork right is different from exterior work. You're operating inside someone's home, around finished floors and freshly painted walls. We take that seriously - the drop cloth on the floor wasn't an afterthought. The install was clean, and the railing sits flush and solid against the light hardwood.

What you end up with is something that does two things at once. It makes the space safer, and it genuinely looks good. That matte black finish against the sage green walls and natural wood floor works. It pulls the room together rather than sticking out.
