Most front steps just go without rails for years. No one wants to deal with the hassle of finding someone who can fabricate something that actually fits the space - and the off-the-shelf stuff rarely looks right. This customer wanted something sturdy and safe, but also something that wouldn't look out of place on a well-kept older home.
We built and installed three separate handrails total - two flanking the main front entry stairs, and a standalone rail on a side set of steps. Each one was custom fabricated to fit the specific run and rise of the steps, so nothing looks thrown together or generic. The structural bronze-style powder coat finish was the right call here. It's a warm, grounded tone that pairs well with the home's existing colors without trying to compete with them.
That finish matters more than people think. Powder coating isn't just about looks - it's a tough, durable barrier that holds up against weather, UV, and daily use far better than paint. On exterior metalwork, that durability is the difference between a rail that looks good for years and one that starts flaking by the second winter.
What we ended up with is a set of rails that feel solid underfoot, look intentional, and actually improve how the front of the home presents. Simple vertical picket design, clean welds, and a finish that ties the whole thing together. That's what good custom railing fabrication and installation looks like when it's done right.
Whether it's one rail or several, a front entry or a side access - if your steps don't have something safe and secure to hold onto, it's worth fixing. We handle everything from the fab work to the final install.
